Drop in mentored mending on Mondays, three times a month at the Co-op. Experienced sewers Trish Adams, Sarah Daniel and Tara Lilburne share their know-how to help you mend clothes and other fabric items, extending their life and keeping them out of landfill.

Sarah Daniel - 2nd Monday of the month
For Sarah mending is somewhere between art, activism and meditation served with cups of tea. She loves to work with what ever is at hand, by hand, to re-story cloth and clothing so that is becomes like our skin, revealing the stories of who we are rather than those the clothes may have told us to be...

Tara Lilburne - 3rd Monday of the month
Tara is a founding and lifetime member of the Co-op and has always mended. She likes to mend by hand sewing, restoring creatively in sympathy with the age and quality of a garment. Tara believes, that “like wrinkles on a body, mending can add to the beauty of the garment”.

Trish Adams - 4th Monday of the month
Trish has a lifetime of sewing experience and of creatively bringing broken garments back to life to “make things last, and make them do”. She is well known in the community as the driving force behind Boomerang Bags Blue Mountains and has a passion for sharing her sewing skills to help people save money and reduce waste.

Where: in the Co-op Big Little Shop or at the table outside if the weather is nice.

What to bring: something you want to mend, and any pieces of fabric and or threads that you want to use. Tara and Trish will bring along their own sewing kits and spare pieces of fabric. We also have sewing machines available.
