About

Do you want to learn about how kids learn to read and spell, why some struggle and what science tells us about how to help them succeed? Don't miss our Brisbane Reading Doctor workshop!

This nationally acclaimed day workshop, presented by speech-language pathologist Bartek Rajkowski, PhD, covers the latest in research on literacy development. After attending this session, you will understand:

- The history and logic behind the code in written English
- Why words are spelled the way they are
- How children learn to read and spell
- Which skills are important in learning to read and spell
- Why many students struggle with reading and spelling
- Scientific insights into how reading and spelling are best taught
- How Australia can improve literacy outcomes for our students

The workshop also includes a practical, afternoon session on using Reading Doctor programs and apps to support evidence-based teaching of reading and spelling.
